What is Smailander?¶

Smailander is an email honeypot and security monitoring platform that helps you detect and analyze email threats before they reach your organization.

How does it work?¶

1. You create email honeypots that look like real addresses

3. Smailander captures and analyzes the emails
4. You get detailed threat analysis and insights

Is Smailander free?¶

We offer a free tier with limited features, plus paid plans (Pro and Enterprise) with advanced features and higher limits.

What's included in each plan?¶

Can I upgrade/downgrade plans?¶

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, with prorated billing.

Setup & Configuration¶

How do I create a honeypot?¶

1. Go to Dashboard → Honeypots
2. Click "Create Honeypot"
3. Enter email address and details
4. Click "Create"

Can I use my own domain?¶

Yes! Add your domain in Smailander settings, then configure the DNS records provided by Smailander.

How do I configure email routing?¶

Smailander handles all email routing internally. Simply add your domain and configure the DNS records provided in the dashboard. See our Quick Start guide for details.

Security & Privacy¶

Is my data secure?¶

Yes. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). See our Security page for details.

Are you GDPR compliant?¶

Yes, Smailander is fully GDPR compliant. See our GDPR Compliance page for details.

Can I delete my data?¶

Yes, you can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.

Troubleshooting¶

I'm not receiving emails¶

Check: - DNS configuration in Smailander settings - DNS records are properly configured - Honeypot status is active - Domain verification status

Threat scoring uses multiple factors. Low scores may indicate: - Legitimate but suspicious emails - New attack patterns - Configurations may need adjustment
